Rebecca Herin studies mass communication at Louisiana State University through the Manship School of Mass Communication. Her concentration is in public relations, and she pursues a minor in business administration.

Herin is the communications intern for the United Methodist Foundation of Louisiana. Her previous role was as the social media specialist for HungryChild Lifestyle Co. Herin generated substantial social media growth for each business. During her freshman year of college, Herin wrote for LSU’s newspaper, The Reveille, and recorded news segments for LSU’s radio station, KLSU. Through these experiences, Herin learned valuable skills such as campaign execution, event planning, marketing and networking. Currently, she works three part-time jobs while taking 15 hours of classes.

Herin is a senior at LSU and a Dean’s List student. She maintains a 3.5 GPA and is a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America. Herin was also a member of LSU’s 2022 Bateman Case Study Competition team. The team was awarded an honorable mention and received a 98/100 for their campaign. In high school, she graduated with honors and was given the service award for participating in over 200 hours of community service.

Herin was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and has a close connection to her family. She prizes her collection of over 300 books and has a unique interest in bees. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, cooking and reading. Herin hopes to move to a larger city after graduating and aspires to one day work as a chief communications officer or vice president of marketing and communications.
