Capitol Welders encourages workers to adhere to safety guidelines

Welders have the highest-risk occupation in the construction industry, but Capitol Welders’ safety protocols are designed to protect our workers.

A lack of safety while welding can result in injuries such as burns, eye damage or electrocution. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that more than 500,000 workers are injured every year due to welding accidents.

When we send our welders to a job site, we expect nothing less than the safest working environment. However, accidents and injuries can occur but can also be avoided with proper safety protocol.

We value the safety of every person we work with at our company. Our welders should have the following on while working:

  • Safety glasses
  • Earplugs
  • Auto-darkening helmet
  • Welding bandana
  • Light-weight welding jacket
  • Heavy-duty welding gloves
  • Leather apron
  • Steel-toed boots

Welders should avoid rolling up sleeves or pant cuffs because sparks or hot metal could fall into the folds or the boots. Employees should check their equipment before use at every job site and make sure they are wearing all safety equipment required.

To promote safety, we have a new reward system for those who show consistent precaution and adhere to Capitol Welders’ safety standards. Together, we can make Capitol Welders an even safer working environment.
